How to Remove Spyware
While even inexperienced computer users may know what viruses are, and that they should have a program to protect their computer, not everyone knows what is meant by spyware, and why it needs to be removed from your PC.
Spyware is a program that gets downloaded to your computer without you knowing it. This can happen when you download files from Internet sites, install a program you got online, or even from a friend who didn't know they had the problem to start with.
The reason you need to remove spyware, is because of the havoc it can wreak on your computer system. These programs are designed to gather information about you as you surf, including cookies, passwords, and in extreme case, it may leave you vulnerable to hackers. Your browser settings can be changed, emails harvested for spammers, and you could be subject to pop-ups of an unacceptable nature, even when your children are using the Internet.
Unless you have a virus program that also comes with a spyware unit, you are going to have to look for a program on the Internet to get rid of the problem. Many of them are free, but have limited value unless you update them frequently, and for this, some of them will then charge a fee.
