A wart is a lump on the top layer of the skin, which appears when a virus enters the skin cells
and causes them to rapidly multiply. There are many different
types of warts, each produced by a specific virus. They can either grow on your hands, face, genitals or
feet. Here is a brief description on two types; common and plane, as well as remedies on how to remove a
wart.
The common wart, or plantar wart when on the bottom of the foot, is a small hard, white or pink
lump with a cauliflower-like surface. This type of wart can grow anywhere on your body, but is most likely to
develop on your hands. While common warts are usually painless, having one on the bottom of your foot can
make you feel as though you are walking on a pebble.
The plane wart is usually small, pale-brown, and has a smooth surface. It mostly appears in clusters on the face or the back of the
hand. However they seem to appear on the skin near the upper
lip, most commonly among children and young adults.
Most warts disappear naturally, but it could take several years. Therefore, if you want to have any wart removed, consider these two
methods. First, there are many preparations which can be effective such as an ointment or lotion, which are
available at any pharmacy.
These preparations contain chemicals that destroy abnormal skin cells. Because these can also destroy healthy tissue, use them
carefully. Keep these caustic preparations away from your
eyes. Do not treat warts on your face or genitals with this type
of remedy; the skin on these areas is tender and sensitive. If this home method does not work, here is
another alternative.
Make an appointment with your doctor so that a more effective preparation can be prescribed.
Another way is to have your doctor remove the wart by freezing
it with liquid nitrogen, or burning it with electricity. The
wart usually falls off after a few days. Genital warts, however,
are effectively treated by injecting interferon directly into the wart.
Whatever method you choose, do your research in finding the best possible remedy on how to
remove a wart.
