How to Remove Graffiti
If you pass any school, building, or business in
your neighborhood, odds are you will find its facade defaced with graffiti.
Lately, though, homes that are situated on corners where one side is
fully exposed is a tempting site for those who have no qualms about spray painting or using permanent markers to
mark their territories.
So how do you remove graffiti? It depends on the surface. If
there is graffiti on wood, you can scrub it first with a brush and then repaint.
For graffiti on tiles and bricks, you can usually take it off with a
heavy duty detergent and non-stop scrubbing.
There are now graffiti removal products available at your local hardware
store. Your best bet is to ask the proprietor which product is best
by telling him the type of surface you are dealing with, whether it’s vinyl, brick, or wood.
When using any chemical product, be sure to read the label and adhere to
the instructions. Wear safety goggles and gloves, as well as a mask
to cover your nose and mouth if necessary.
If the graffiti is very difficult to remove, you can always call a
graffiti remover or visit your local paint store wherein they can advise you how to best address the
problem.
Graffiti on cars is another insidious problem. You may have to file an
insurance claim in order to have the car repainted.
