How to Remove Foundation
Depending upon the type of foundation
you use on your face, it may rub against the collar of your
blouse or you may drop the bottle accidentally and some of
it splashes on your clothes.
The first thing you need to do is read
the care instructions on the garment you are
wearing.
For water-based foundation, you
can wash the spot with detergent and warm
water. If
the stain doesn’t come out, use bleach (where
applicable).
For oil-based foundation, you can use
Shout or another type of stain remover. If the garment is machine
washable, place it in the washing machine and that should
suffice.
If the stain lingers, use bleach on the
area. Again,
read the care instructions to determine if bleach can be
used on this particular garment.
Another suggestion is to rub some of
your laundry detergent on the stain, let it sit for about a
half hour, and then soak in cold water and
wash.
If all else fails, take the garment to
your dry cleaners.
Foundations and powders are used more
often than not today. To prevent staining your
expensive clothes, put your makeup on before you
dress. This, of
course, is assuming that you are not wearing pullover
sweaters or tops.
Here’s an idea for those of you who
often wear pullover shirts, blouses, and sweaters – locate a
beauty supply store where you can purchase a plastic cover,
just like the one your hairdresser uses. This snaps at the neck and
will cover your clothes to prevent any makeup from smudging
them.
Where there’s a will, there’s a
way.
