How to Remove Fat
Have you ever made homemade chicken
soup and noticed a heavy film at the top?
Well, that’s fat. In fact, when it comes to cooking soups
and stews, fat inevitably rises to the top.
Moreover, when you refrigerate these delicious soups and
stews and take them out to have as leftovers, you can actually see the fat as it has solidified at the top of
the pot.
Here is how you can remove the fat easily and without any
muss or fuss.
When you are making soup or stew, tilt the pot to one
side. Take a large spoon and just lightly skim off the fat at the
top.
In addition, if you feel that too much oily fat has
deposited to the top of the pot you can use a paper towel to soak up the oily fat as well.
For soups and stews or any meal that has been
refrigerated, you will easily notice the fat at the top has hardened. This fat can be removed by just taking it out in chunks or use a large
spoon.
To prevent fat from forming on prepared foods, line the
top of the dish or pot with saran wrap. Ensure that fried chicken
legs, thighs, and breasts are put into a container with a lid before placed into the fridge.
If you’ve ever left out a piece of chicken, you may notice
that after a while the fat sinks to the bottom of the dish and it isn’t at all appetizing.
If you remove fat from any prepared food from the get go,
chances are there will be less fat residue later. Besides, it is
not at all healthy to eat anyway.
