How to Remove a Tooth
Removing a tooth is something our
grandparents may have helped with when our parents were
kids.
Tying a string to the wobbly tooth and
attaching the string to a door knob was usually
effective.
Today, however, learning how to remove
a tooth - only if it is loose enough to come out - is the
easy part.
If you or a child has a very loose
tooth, the best approach to removing it is to simply pull it
straight out with hospital gloves. This allows you to get a
firm grip on the tooth and extract it easily.
Ensure you have cotton balls available
in case there is slight bleeding. The cotton balls can be
used to compress the area after the tooth is removed. Wash
out the mouth with some salt water
afterward.
On the other hand, if the tooth is not
loose or it’s a molar, the best course of action is to go to
a dentist. They
have the tools necessary to prevent infection and take out
the tooth in a safe and sterile environment.
In addition, if the person involved
fears the pain of extraction, the doctor will utilize a
local anesthetic. Moreover, if there is a hole that needs
suturing, the dentist can safely execute this step as
well.
Learning how to remove a tooth is more
risky than it was years ago. Infection can occur, which
can only add to the discomfort of the person
involved.
Moreover, if there is an infection then antibiotics will
certainly be needed.
While our grandparents may not have
been able to afford a dentist, it is certainly not the case
today. It’s a
good idea to leave tooth removal to the
professionals.
