How to Remove a Tap
If you are a do-it-yourself
individual, removing a leaky tap can be quite easy.
If you don’t know the first thing about taps, here are the
steps you can follow to make the process easier.
1. Turn off the water underneath the
sink.
2. Turn on the tap to make sure the
water is completely turned off.
3. Remove the screw from the top of the
tap handle.
3. Remove the tap
cover.
4. Remove the plate
cover.
5. Remove the washer and replace with a
new one.
6. Put the plate and tap cover
back.
7. Return the top of the tap
handle.
8. Turn the water back
on.
9. Ensure there are no
leaks.
Normally, the cause of a leaky faucet is either the washer
is corroded or the valves need repair.
If, after you have followed the aforementioned steps, the
tap still leaks; you may want to call in a plumber.
There is nothing more annoying than the drip, drip, drip
heard during a night of peaceful slumber. Moreover, ignoring the
problem is increasing your water bill as well.
If you need additional help, there are many online sites
that offer video instructions to remove and/or replace leaky taps.
