How to Get Rid of Flies
Doesn’t it
seem as if flies are everywhere?
Fruit flies,
house flies, ant flies, etc. They are in your home, in
your car, at your workplace; in your backyard, or
annoyingly buzzing around your window screen. Sick and tired of
them?
Here are some
rules on how to get rid of flies.
Rule number
one: Keep all
food off of your kitchen table or counter. This is the
area of your home where flies gather most. If you must
have fruit, cake, or homemade meals left out – cover all
of them with saran wrap, or place them in zip-lock
containers.
Rule number
two: Keep your
house clean and tidy. Do not leave any food
particles out in plain sight, such as crumbs, banana
peels, or anything of this nature either in your kitchen
or in your scrap bags. Do not leave unopened
bottles of cola on your table, or any other liquid that
would attract them. Make certain your garbage is put into
an appropriate bag and tied securely
Rule number
three: Undo the
clutter in any room of your home, ensuring that you have
dusted, polished and vacuumed several times a
week. Make
sure your window screens do not have holes in them. Use
duct tape to temporarily cover the holes until you can
replace the screens. If you have an air
conditioner in your window, cover all of the openings
underneath it with wood, duct tape or large
sponges.
Rule number
four: While you
can use fly traps or strips, you may be concerned
choosing these methods especially if you have small
children. Consider using the traditional fly-swatter. It
usually works most of the time.
Flies are
part of nature’s balance and they are here to
stay. You
may as well get used to the fact that somewhere,
sometime, you will have to deal with them.
Hopefully, if
you follow the rules, you will not only get rid of flies,
but may originate some ideas of your own and share them
with the rest of the world.
