How to Remove Crazy Glue From a Ring
Depending on the surface of the ring, and whether it is
actually on any stones that are set in it, this can be a very tricky situation.
The shine of gold can be damaged by even "lesser" chemicals in hairsprays, hand
creams, and other common solutions.
Given that the one substance known to pry Super Glue off anything is acetate,
it's almost guaranteed to spoil the appearance of your ring.
What you can try, is soaking the ring in hot water. Keep refreshing the water until it has soaked for a couple of
hours at least. Neither the heat nor the water will affect gold or hard gemstones.
Take either the fine point of a paring knife, or the point of a fairly thick darning needle, and pick away at the
glue.
You can try a gentle scraping with the knife tip as well. It's possible that the
heat will soften it enough to be pried off the surface of stones or metal, where it tends to bond tighter to a
porous material.
