How to Remove Chrome
Nowadays, most cars to
not have chrome plating, but if you have a car and the chrome is peeling or rusting – it’s time to remove
it.

From the outset, it is important to note
that using any type of acid can do damage to the underlying aluminum, not to mention your hands if you are not
careful.
When preparing to do any of these tasks,
ensure that you wear protective eyewear and gloves and are conducting this removal in a well ventilated
area.
However, you can use a fifteen percent
solution of sulphuric acid. This solution will effectively remove the chrome plating without harming the metal
underneath.
If this is not prudent for you to do, you
can remove the chrome by sandblasting it off. It is safe and effective and costs less than the previous two
methods.
Finally, if none of these methods appeal to you, take the car to a
plating shop where they can remove the chrome safely and effectively.
